No idea why I'm blogging when there's an exam to be had in less than 4 hours, but here I am. LOLI was taking a break from revision and was chatting with two friends on Skype. One of them was on a forum, and gotten pissed at what those people were writing, i.e. making fun of people with special needs. Then I remembered a phone call that happened over at PKIK when I was there helping set up an account for newsletters and such. As all three of us are staunch believers that everyone is equal, we're pissed. And angry. One of the girls has a sister who's autistic - at its worse. The sister can't communicate at all, reduced to crying and screaming and inflicting bodily harm on herself. The friend brought the sister for a haircut, but the workers were too damn busy making fun of her to cut her hair. The other has a friend who's homosexual and everywhere he went, someone called him a "faggot". I'm lucky that no one picked on my own sister, but I know of a sweet girl from PKIK whose parents sent her to a home and refused to bring her for a simple matter of renewing her passport for the upcoming World Special Olympics in Greece. Yes, I'm pissed enough that this deserves a blog post. To all you people out there who live happy, normal lives, possibly as an only child or with normal siblings, let me ask you this. Did you ever try to comprehend that they did not ask to be born the way they are? Did you ever try to understand how difficult it is for them to be as they are, much less their family members? Do you even know how much we worry for them? Sure, we might be happier if they were born normal, but they're still family. To you people who enjoy poking fun at them, what if it was your sibling people were poking fun at? You wouldn't like that, would you? In the case of homosexuality, it's not a goddamned disease. They're human too, just like me and you. Did you even try to get to know them? I bet not. Their sexual preferences should not matter. Their sexual orientation should not matter. If it was you who was homosexual, and people were calling you a "faggot" or whatever other degrading names, would you like it? I bet not. I get that the world's a free place. I get that you have your own opinions. I get that there's freedom of speech. But that doesn't mean you can demean and belittle those different from you. Think about it. You won't like it if people demean and belittle you just because you're different. So why are you doing it to those who are? Try and understand them. Read up on disabilities. Try to know those homosexual people. I'm not forcing; I'm just calling out for you to just try and understand the pain we, as family members or friends, go through when some insensitive prick picks on those dear and important to us.

...I need a new blog skin. This one looks horrible, OTL.I've been doing some self-reflection lately. I don't know why this happened less than a week before exams, but yea. Self-reflection Here we go. Ahem. 1) I'm a loner. Not that I'm always alone. It's more of... compared to being with a group of people and feeling left out, I'd rather be alone. Thing is, I don't talk much in groups - heck, even in groups of three I can be ridiculously quiet. I'm more talkative in pairs - and online. Or perhaps it's how well I feel I "click" with people. Who knows. For example, when I compare talking to my uni mates with my besties, I talk with my besties better. Even when I'm with bestie-number-one's group of friends from "The Ohmygod Academy" (name courtesy of one chocobo head), I'm more talkative compared to when I'm with my uni mates (exception being those with similar interests). I don't know why this happens. 2) Bad temper is baaad. I... have a rather short fuse. I'm also quick to tears. I don't know why or when things people say will set me off (last week didn't count. I was trying to train my darn characters, and Henry made Ruz's character kill mine when all he wanted to do was make it a little harder for me. Of course I was pissed. Do not piss off the casual gamer *angryface*). Something tells me I need to learn to overcome this one. ;;; 3) I'm confused. This one deals with emotions more than anything else. Today, I read Carmen's blog about her previous relationship (in which her sister totally pwns, btw), and Michy just broke up in hers. They both shared a common theme - the guy was a complete asshole. In Carmen's case, the guy dumped her for another then came back to her, before doing the same thing again. She gave him two chances, and he blew them both. Now, he's bothering mutual friends between them (also apparently hurting himself). Personally, I'm glad Carmen decided enough was enough and moved on. She deserves better. Michy's, on the other hand, was a case of immature guys. He apparently doesn't know what she meant to him. This was also the second time. I mean, seriously? I've had Michy on YT as a friend for a while - though it's only this year that I really got to know her - and while my interaction with her is still quite limited, I could tell she's an awesome person to be with. Rai, you suck. Really. Do you even know how much you've hurt her? My respect for you has gone down a lot. Obviously, there's my own "dilemma". No, it's not about Andrew anymore - he just changed his relationship status on FB today, and I'm glad for him. No, it's someone else, but going into details is far too troublesome. Long story short, he says something but does something else. I don't know what to think. 4) I try to empathize... a lot. I honestly don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. When someone tells me their troubles, I seem to immediately try and imagine myself in their situation. I'm not quite sure what to make of this. ;;; 5) Sometimes, I wonder... ...what's worth fighting for, and what's not. What's "right" and what's "wrong". Things like that. Looking at the world now... it's so politically-driven. Everything is for someone's own gain. Everything causes someone to lose out. Everything makes someone happy; another sad; another angry; another indignant; some confused; others neutral. Things don't make sense anymore. Why is it power causes people to go corrupt? Why is it the good is always overtaken by the bad in the political scene? Things really don't make sense. 6) I seem to play "editor" and "peacemaker" a lot. The editor part is mostly for assignments - checking grammar, sentence structure and all that. I'm fine with it too... though it gives me a headache sometimes, trying to understand the sentences better. ;;; The peacemaker part came up just yesterday. Xajin, Junnie, and I were having lunch, and Xajin, being the blunt, in-your-face sort of person he is, told Junnie that she was "an easy target". Thing here is, Junnie has a rather - how do I put it? - classy, princess-y aura about her. Her definition of "casual" is my definition of "semi-formal". And she's dense, and she coined it herself. Imagine this please: three cosplayers in the same university, sitting and talking in the nearby mamak, having this sort of conversation. Over maggie mee goreng. No joke. ...Yeeeeaaaaah. So, Junnie over-thought Xajin's words and sorta... blew up. Xajin did his best to explain that he meant no harm by pointing it out, but Junnie was... ignoring him. As a third person in the conversation, I could feel the awkwardness in the air, and I was... kinda... pulling faces by myself (Junnie was sitting in front of me too; how smart of me). Really, Xajin and I insult each other for the sake of insulting each other. He's also a guy who's fiercely protective of his friends. It really isn't that hard to tell; I could hear his concern for Junnie when he told her these things. I played peacemaker for a bit, Junnie apologized. End of long story. *SHOT* Other times I play peacemaker? One word: home. Nuff said. ;;; ...*COUGH* Yea, I can't think of anything else right now. But these few things are the ones circulating in my mind the most right now. Meh. Hopefully I can find closure within myself Labels: introspection, random facts, thoughts Saturday, May 29, 2010
So, I've downloaded Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep recently. Having completed Terra's storyline and halfway down Ventus's, I came to some rather... confusing... realizations. XDNote that this WILL contain spoilers. And without further ado... here we...I... go! 1) When the game starts (if you don't skip the scenes, that is...), you'll find that Ventus is in his Awakening station that is soon revealed to be broken off. A voice (read: words on screen that apparently Ventus could hear but not us) is then talking to Ventus and offers to help the other by joining their hearts until Ventus no longer needs the help. I stand by the opinion that this voice is child Sora, and I believe I'm right. More on that in a bit. 2) At the end of Ventus's storyline (after fighting Vanitas [who looks like an emo Sora, really] in a seriously epic battle), there is a scene in which he is falling in the trademark-Kingdom Hearts fall sequence, and he sees a light. On that light, he says something along the lines of remembering 'this warmth' and about how 'nostalgic' it is. 3) Also at the end of Ventus's storyline, child Sora and child Riku are seen on Destiny Islands, where suddenly child Riku notices that child Sora is upset. Child Sora tells child Riku that he feels 'very sad' suddenly "in his heart", and child Riku suggests that "someone in another world is sad". Child Riku also tells child Sora to try and talk to this someone, which child Sora does. 4) In child Sora's Awakening station, he sees a small shimmering ball of light - Ventus's lost heart, and they talk. Ventus expresses his reluctance to "go back to sleep", and asks child Sora if their hearts could join again (SEE?! POINT ONE!). Child Sora tells Ventus that if their hearts' joining would make Ventus happy, he's happy. And therefore, from this, some questions that rose from Kingdom Hearts II could be answered. 1) Why Roxas looks like Ventus :: For the same reason why Vanitas looks like Sora - a matter of hearts. Tetsuya Nomura (the game developer) said in an interview that the reason why Vanitas looks like Sora was because Ventus's heart made contact with Sora's. As such, if Ventus's heart made contact with anyone else's heart, Vanitas would take the form of that person. 2) How both Sora and Roxas could wield the Keyblade :: It is assumed that Sora's (and subsequently, Roxas's) ability to wield the Keyblade is thanks to Ventus's heart making contact with Sora's. Additionally, Ventus's heart being in Sora's is assumed to be the reason why Sora (and Roxas) is... are... able to double-wield. ** On a somewhat unrelated note, if the reaction command from Sora vs. Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ is done right, Sora would be the first Keyblade Master to triple-wield. ...Eh, I can't think of anything else right now, so Imma ending the post here.
